You can buy your own disability aids and it is possible to be assessed by a social worker of occupational health therapist. Not all equipment can be provided for you without a cost implication. Not all equipment is needed long term. You may require information on how to adapt your workplace.
Use the blue buttons on the left of the screen to access information that will be of use to you. Whether you’re buying equipment or having it provided for you, it’s always worth testing out the equipment for yourself first if possible.
When installing equipment, you should also consider the following:
Does the equipment come with a guarantee and technical support?
- Is your condition likely to deteriorate? If so, how much use will you get out of the equipment?
- Who will be operating the equipment – you, a carer, or both?
